The Gateway

A school assignment for learning handpainted texture techniques. Box-modeled in maya and textured in Substance Painter and Photoshop. Later animated in Maya, to show the entire concept. I wanted to create a gate/portal similar to what exists in the movies Howl's moving castle and Treasure Planet. That's why I have onesided planes in the middle of the door, so that you can only see the world you can enter from one side and give it a more magical and mystical feel.
